A Social Feed section pulls your latest Instagram posts or TikTok videos onto your profile and keeps them fresh. You connect your account once, link it to the section, and new posts show up on their own. It's no trouble.

This is a two-part job, in two places. First you connect your account once under Tools. Then you link a Social Feed section to that account. You only sign in once. The linking step points the section at the account you already connected, so when it asks you to "link" again, nothing is broken.

Before you start

This is a Pro feature. Connecting an account needs a plan that includes Content Connections, which comes with Pro and Team. On a Free plan the Connect Instagram account (or Connect TikTok account) button on the Connections page asks you to upgrade instead of signing you in.

A couple of things to know first:

  • This is different from social icons. Adding your Instagram or TikTok icon is a separate, free thing. Those are small links out to your account on that site, not a live feed. To add icons instead, see add your social accounts.
  • Instagram needs a Business or Creator account. A personal account can't share its posts through the connection. Switch to a Business or Creator account in the Instagram app first. The Instagram card shows a note that reads "Requires an Instagram Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page." In practice the account type is the part that matters: a Creator account with no Facebook Page connects and fills its feed fine.

Connecting your Instagram or TikTok account

This is part one. You'll do it on the Connections page under Tools.

On a Free plan, the Connect Instagram account (or Connect TikTok account) button here asks you to upgrade first. If that happens, move to Pro or Team, then come back. The "Before you start" note above covers the plan you need.

  1. Go to the Connections page. It lives under Tools.
  2. Find the Instagram or TikTok card.
  3. Select Connect Instagram account (or Connect TikTok account).
  4. A window opens listing the sync options. Profile & Email is always on. Turn on Media Feed for Instagram, or Video Feed for TikTok, so your posts can come across.
  5. Select Connect. You'll be sent to Instagram or TikTok to sign in and allow access.
  6. Approve the request. You land back on NoTrouble with a "Your Instagram account is now connected." message (or "Your TikTok account is now connected.").

The card now shows your account name and a green Enabled badge. That means the account is linked. You're done with the Connections page. Next, add a section to your profile and point it at this account.

Adding a Social Feed section to your profile

This is part two, and it starts in the Designer. You're moving from the Connections page to your profile now.

  1. Open your profile in the Designer and select Add section. For more on this step, see add and arrange sections.
  2. In the grid, under Automatic, choose Social Feed. The section drops onto your profile.

A new Social Feed section starts empty. It stays empty until you link your account to it and the first sync runs, which the next section covers. One thing to know now: a Social Feed only pulls in posts once the section is live, so publish your profile when you're ready and the section can sync.

You can add the section on any plan. It stays empty until you connect an account, and that connection is the Pro part.

Linking your account to the Social Feed section

Last move: you're leaving the Designer for your content list, where you tell the section which account to pull from. This is the step that fills the feed.

  1. Go to your content list, then open your Social Feed section. You'll land on the section's posts list, which stays empty until the first sync.
  2. On the section page, select Configure in the toolbar.
  3. Scroll to the OAuth Connection card. This is where you pick which connected account feeds this section. "OAuth" refers to the secure sign-in you already did.
  4. In Select Connection, pick the Instagram or TikTok account you connected.
  5. Select Link Connection. A short window confirms the account.
  6. Select Link. You'll see a "linked." message, and the card now shows the account.

If your account isn't in the list, select Add Instagram or Add TikTok in the same card to connect it without leaving the page. Once it's linked, your posts start coming in on the next sync.

When will my posts show up?

Your feed fills on a schedule, not the instant you link it. After you link an account, the first batch of posts arrives within a few minutes. After that, we check for new posts on our own: Instagram about every half hour, TikTok about every hour. There's no "sync now" button, so if you've only now linked the account, give it a little time and refresh.

A few posts at the top is normal. The section brings in your most recent posts, not your whole Instagram or TikTok history, so it won't match everything you see in the app. Missing older posts is expected: the feed only carries your latest ones.

My Social Feed is empty

An empty feed almost always comes down to one of these. Check them in order:

  • No account is linked yet. Open your Social Feed section, select Configure in the toolbar, and check the OAuth Connection card. If it says no connection, pick your account in Select Connection and choose Link Connection.
  • You linked it moments ago. The first sync runs within a few minutes, not right away. Wait a short while, then refresh the page.
  • The section isn't published. A Social Feed only syncs once the section is published, so an unpublished one never fills. In the section's Configure panel, turn on Published. Then publish your profile so visitors see it.
  • Your Instagram is a personal account. Only Business or Creator accounts can share posts. Switch the account type in the Instagram app, then reconnect.
  • The feed feature is turned off. The account can be linked and still not share posts if its feed toggle is off. On the Connections page, open the card and check that Media Feed (Instagram) or Video Feed (TikTok) shows an Enabled badge, not Disabled.
  • You have no recent posts. The feed shows your latest posts. If the account has none, there's nothing to bring in yet.

My feed stopped updating

If your feed was working and has gone stale, the link to your account most likely needs attention. Open the Connections page under Tools and look at the Instagram or TikTok card:

  • It says "Expired". Your access ran out, which happens on its own over time. Select Reconnect to sign in again and resume syncing.
  • It says "Revoked". Access was turned off, often from the Instagram or TikTok side. Select Reconnect to restore it.
  • Posts you deleted are still showing. Each sync removes posts that are gone from your account, but only within its recent window. To clear an older one, hide or delete it on the section's content list.

While the connection needs a fix, your existing posts keep showing. Only new posts pause until you reconnect.

The Connections option isn't in my menu

The Connections tool sits under Tools in the left menu. On a Free plan the Connect Instagram account (or Connect TikTok account) button shows with a Pro badge, and selecting it asks you to upgrade rather than signing you in. Connecting an account is part of Content Connections, which comes with a paid plan. Once you're on Pro or Team, the badge goes away and the button works.

I'm on Pro but I don't see the Instagram or TikTok card

The Connections page only lists the accounts that are turned on for you. Instagram and TikTok feeds are rolling out in stages, so they can take a little while to reach every Pro account. If your card isn't there yet:

  • Double-check you're on a plan with Content Connections. Your current plan shows on the billing page.
  • Give it a little time and check back. The card appears on its own once the feature reaches you.
  • If it's been a while and you're sure you're on Pro or Team, reach out so we can take a look.

Seeing what my Social Feed drives

Once posts are flowing, you'll want to know if they're working. Your profile insights show which posts get tapped and where your visitors come from. To find out whether Instagram or TikTok is sending you traffic, see where your visitors came from. To track a specific post or campaign, see which post or campaign sent you traffic.

Turning off a Social Feed

You can stop a feed two ways, depending on what you want. Either way, posts already imported stay on your profile; only new ones stop coming in.

  • Keep the account, drop it from the section. In the section's Configure panel, find the OAuth Connection card and select Disconnect.
  • Remove the account entirely. On the Connections page under Tools, open the card, select Edit connection, then Disconnect. This unlinks the account everywhere it was used.
