If you keep getting asked the same things, an FAQ section answers them right on your profile. Visitors get the answer without messaging or calling you, and you stop typing the same reply over and over. It's no trouble.

Before you start

You need to own the profile you're editing. FAQ sections live in the Designer, the screen where you build and arrange your profile. There's no plan or add-on needed, so anyone can add one.

It helps to jot down your most-asked questions first. Think about what people ask before they buy or book: hours, shipping, sizing, pricing, "do you do X?". Those are your FAQ items.

Adding an FAQ section

  1. Open your profile in the Designer. From your profiles list, find the profile and choose Edit In Designer.
  2. In the left panel, find the Add section button at the bottom and select it.
  3. A grid of section types opens, grouped by what you want to do. Look under the Write something group.
  4. Choose FAQ. The section appears on your profile right away. Its editor opens for you on its own, so you can name it next.

A fresh FAQ section is empty. In the left panel, under the section's row, you'll see No posts yet. That's your cue to add your question-and-answer pairs.

Naming your FAQ section

A new section starts with no name. You need to give it one. The section name is required, so you can't publish until you fill it in.

The editor opens on its own right after you add the section. If you've moved on and need to get back to it:

  1. In the left panel, select the FAQ section's row, or select the pencil to edit it.
  2. In the Name field, type a clear heading like "FAQ" or "Frequently asked questions".
  3. The Description field below is optional. Use it for a line of intro text if you want one.

The preview updates as you type, so you can see how the heading looks.

Adding question-and-answer pairs

Each question and its answer is one item in the section. You add them one at a time.

  1. On the FAQ section's row in the left panel, select the plus button. This adds a new item and opens it for editing.
  2. In the Question field, type the question the way a visitor would ask it. For example, "Do you ship to Canada?".
  3. In the Answer field, type a short, clear answer. Keep it to a sentence or two.
  4. To point people somewhere, fill in the Button link. On an FAQ card, this turns the question itself into a tappable heading, so visitors can select the question to follow the link. The Button label and More links fields don't show on an FAQ card, so you can leave them blank.
  5. Select Done when the item looks right.

Repeat for each question. Add another item with the plus button each time. Your edits aren't saved yet, so don't close the tab until you publish.

Example FAQs to start with

Not sure what to put? Here are a few that fit most profiles. Swap in your own details.

  • What are your hours? "We're open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and closed on weekends."
  • Do you ship to my area? "We ship across the country. Orders go out within two business days."
  • What's your return policy? "Returns are welcome within 30 days, as long as the item is unused."
  • How do I book? "Use the booking button at the top of this page to pick a time that works."
  • How much do you charge? "Pricing depends on the job. Send us a message and we'll quote you."

The order your questions appear in

On your live profile, FAQ items show in the order you add them, top to bottom. The order you add them in is the order visitors read. So add your most common question first, then work down to the rarer ones.

There's no drag-to-reorder for FAQ items yet, so set the order as you go. To move one up later, delete it and add it again in the right spot. To delete an item, select the trash button on its row in the left panel and confirm.

You may notice a Sort by picker in the section editor. It does not change the order visitors read in an FAQ, so it won't help you here. Leave it as it is.

Hiding a question without deleting it

Want to keep an answer ready but not show it yet? You can hide a single item instead of deleting it.

On the item's row in the left panel, select the eye button. When the eye has a line through it, that question is hidden from visitors. Select it again to show it. To hide the whole FAQ section at once, see add and arrange sections.

Publishing your FAQ section

Nothing you added is live until you publish.

  1. When your questions and answers look right, select Publish profile at the top.
  2. If your profile is already live, that button reads Publish changes instead. Select it to push your new FAQ out.
  3. Once everything is saved and live, the button shows Published with a check next to it.

After publishing, open your profile in a new tab to see the FAQ the way visitors do.

Where your FAQ shows up on your profile

Your FAQ section sits on your public profile in the spot where it sits in the left panel. To move the whole section higher or lower, drag its row up or down in the left panel, the same way you order any section. For the full walk through, see add and arrange sections.

Each question shows as its own card, with the question as the heading and your answer right below it. Visitors read every answer in place, without tapping to open anything.

My FAQ isn't showing for visitors

A few things can hide an FAQ section from your live profile:

  • The section has no items. An empty FAQ has nothing to show. Add at least one question and answer.
  • The section or an item is hidden. Check the eye button on the section's row and on each item's row. A line through the eye means it's hidden. Select it to show it again.
  • You haven't published yet. New edits only go live after you publish. Look for Publish changes at the top and select it. See publishing and drafts for more.

My question shows as "Untitled post"

While you're editing, an item with a blank Question shows as Untitled post in the left panel, and a blank Answer leaves the card empty. Both fields make an item read well, so open the item, fill in the Question and the Answer, then select Done.

If you added an item but never filled it in, don't worry. A wholly empty item is dropped when you save, so it won't reach your live profile.

Publishing won't go through

If you select Publish and nothing happens, or you see a message that a name is required, the cause is almost always an FAQ section with no name. The section name is required, so publishing stops until you add one.

Open the FAQ section's row in the left panel, type a Name in the Name field, then select Publish again. See publishing and drafts for more on saving and going live.
