Upgrade to a paid plan

Updated June 8, 2026

Moving up to Pro or Team unlocks more features and more room. Your paid plan starts with a free trial, so you can try everything before you pay. It's no trouble, and you can cancel any time.

Before you start

You need to be signed in to the account you want to upgrade, and you need permission to manage billing for it. You'll add a card during checkout. Your card isn't charged until your free trial ends.

Starting your upgrade

There are two common ways in:

  • Open your Billing page and select Upgrade to :plan (it names your next plan up).
  • Or, when a paid feature shows you an upgrade prompt, select Start 14-day free trial in that prompt.

You can also open the Choose Your Plan screen and select the plan you want. Pro shows a Best Value badge. Select Upgrade to Pro or Upgrade to Team to move to checkout.

Picking monthly or annual

On the Checkout screen, the Order Summary has a toggle for Annual and Monthly. Annual costs less over a year, and the summary shows your savings. Switch it before you pay; the total updates right away.

Entering your payment details

The Payment Details card holds a secure card field run by Stripe, our payment company. You'll fill in:

  1. Your card number, expiry date, and security code, in the card field.
  2. Your Contact name.
  3. Your Business name (this one is optional).
  4. Your Billing address. Start typing to search for it, or select Enter address manually to type each part.

Your address fields are Street address line 1, City, State / Province, Postal / Zip code, and Country. These are required so we can work out any tax.

Finishing checkout

Select the Pay button at the bottom. It shows your price, like Pay $18/month. Your card isn't charged yet because your trial hasn't ended.

When it goes through, you land on a Welcome page with confetti, a short setup checklist, and a note that your receipt was emailed to you. That's how you know it worked.

You'll know it worked when

  • You see the Welcome to :plan success page.
  • Your Billing page shows the new plan with a Trial badge and your trial end date.
  • You get a receipt by email.

What the free trial means

Your paid plan starts as a 14-day free trial. You get every feature of the plan right away. We don't charge your card until the trial ends. You'll get an email a few days before that, so the charge is never a surprise. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged.

My card was declined

If your bank turns down the card, the charge won't complete and you'll stay on your current plan. A few common reasons:

  • The card number, expiry, or security code has a typo. Check each one and try again.
  • The card has no room or your bank blocked the charge. Use another card, or call your bank.
  • Your billing address doesn't match the one your bank has on file. Fix the address and try again.

My bank asked me to confirm the payment

Some banks add an extra check for security. If that happens, your bank shows a confirmation step, often a code by text or a tap in your banking app. Finish that step and you'll return to NoTrouble. This is normal and means your bank is protecting you.

The page says "This plan requires a valid promotional code"

This plan is a special offer that only opens with the right code. Go back, add the offer code, and the correct plan loads for you. See apply a promo or offer code. If you don't have a code, pick a standard plan instead.

I don't see an upgrade button

You may already be on the top plan, or you may not have billing permission for this account. If you think you should, ask the account owner to give you billing access, or to do the upgrade.
