Your free trial

Updated June 9, 2026

Every paid plan starts with a free trial. You get the whole plan from day one, and your card isn't charged until the trial ends. So you can try it all, and there's no surprise. Here's how the trial works and how to avoid a charge if you change your mind.

Before you start

The free trial comes with Pro and Team, and it starts when you upgrade to a paid plan. The Free plan has no trial because it's already free, with nothing to pay. Not sure which tier fits? See how the plans compare. You add a card at checkout when you start, but we don't charge it during the trial.

How long is the free trial?

The trial is 14 days. You get the full plan the whole time, with every feature switched on.

The exact length shows on the Checkout screen before you pay. It reads like "14-day money-back guarantee" or "14-day guarantee". That guarantee note is the trial window itself, so trust it: it's the live length for the plan you picked.

Will I be charged during my free trial?

No. Your card sits on file, but we don't charge it while the trial is running. You get the whole plan for free until the last day.

You add a card at checkout so your plan can keep going without a gap when the trial ends. You can change the card we keep on file any time. Nothing leaves your account until that day comes.

How many days do I have left in my trial?

Open your Billing page to check. On the Your Plan card you'll see a Trial badge, plus a line that reads "Trial ends" with the date. Count from today to that date and you've got your days left.

That date is the real one, so trust it. Once the trial ends, the badge changes from Trial to something else, and which one depends on whether you kept the plan or canceled. The next sections walk through each case.

When does my trial end and when am I billed?

Your trial runs for the full 14 days, then ends on the date shown on your Billing page.

A few days before that date, we send you an email titled "Your free trial ends soon". It's a reminder that your trial is almost up, with a link to keep your plan. The email names the end date when it can. Your Billing page always shows the date, so check there if you want to be sure.

When the trial ends, what happens depends on whether you kept a card on file and whether you canceled. The next section breaks down each case. If you keep your plan, your card is charged for the first time on that date and your badge changes from Trial to Active.

What happens when my free trial ends?

It depends on whether you have a working card on file and whether you canceled:

  • Card on file and you didn't cancel. Your plan keeps running. Your card is charged for the first time on the end date, and your badge changes from Trial to Active.
  • You canceled before the end. Your badge stays Trial until the end date, and you'll see a Resume Subscription option and an "Access until" line with that date. You keep your trial access the whole time, and no charge is taken. When the date passes, your account moves to the Free plan and the badge reads Canceled. Your profile and content stay; only the paid-only features turn off.

Either way, nothing you built goes away.

How do I cancel before the trial ends so I'm not charged?

Cancel any time before the end date and you won't be charged a cent.

  1. Open your Billing page.
  2. On the Your Plan card, select Cancel Subscription.
  3. A message asks, "Are you sure you want to cancel? You will retain access until the end of your billing period." Confirm to go ahead.

You'll see "Subscription canceled. You have access until the end of your billing period." Your badge stays Trial until the end date, and the Your Plan card now shows a Resume Subscription option and an "Access until" line with that date. You keep your trial access the whole time, and the charge never happens. When the date passes, your account moves to the Free plan and the badge reads Canceled. Your profile and content stay. For the full steps and what changes, see Cancel your subscription.

Do I get a refund if I forgot to cancel?

The free trial is your built-in safety net: you can cancel any time during it and pay nothing. The "money-back guarantee" you see at checkout is that trial window, not a second refund period after you're charged.

If the trial ended, you were charged, and it's not the right fit, reach out and we'll take a look. There's no self-serve refund button, and refunds aren't guaranteed once the trial is over. Reply to any billing email from us, or open the in-app help, and our team will see what we can do. It's no trouble.

I didn't get the "free trial ends soon" email

Don't worry, your trial date hasn't changed. The email is a courtesy heads-up, not the thing that ends your trial.

  • Check your spam or junk folder, and search your inbox for "free trial".
  • Your Billing page always shows the real end date next to "Trial ends". Trust that date over your inbox.
  • The email goes to the account owner. If that's not you, ask the owner to forward it.

My card was declined when my trial ended

Your trial still ended on time. The charge for your first paid period didn't go through, so your plan is on hold while we sort the payment out. Your badge reads Past Due.

This usually means the card on file is expired, was declined by your bank, or is out of date. We'll keep retrying the charge for you, so you don't have to do a thing to start that. To fix it for good, put a working card on file:

  1. Go to your Billing page.
  2. On the Payment Method card, select Update Card. It opens a secure Stripe page where you add a new card.

Once a good card is on file, the next retry goes through and your badge moves back to Active. If the card looks right and it still won't go through, reply to any billing email from us and we'll look into it. It's no trouble.

My trial badge changed and I'm not sure what it means

Your Billing page shows a badge on the Your Plan card. It changes as your trial ends, and each one tells you a different thing:

  • Trial. Your trial is still running, no charge yet. This stays Trial even after you cancel during the trial, so look for the Resume Subscription option and the "Access until" date to confirm a cancel went through.
  • Active. Your trial ended and your plan is now paid. You kept your card on file and didn't cancel, so your card was charged on the end date.
  • Canceling. You canceled a paid plan that was already past its trial. You still have access until the end date, and no charge will happen.
  • Canceled. Your access has ended and your account is now on the Free plan.
  • Past Due. Your trial ended, but the first charge didn't go through. Put a working card on your Billing page and we'll retry.

If the badge shows Active and you didn't mean to keep the plan, reach out to our team and we'll see what we can do. It's no trouble.
