This walks you all the way from nothing to a working "Book Now" button on your profile, and shows where the bookings end up. You'll build a booking form, set up a time slot people can grab, wire it to your profile's action button, and find your bookings afterward. It's no trouble.
Before you start
Booking works on every plan, so you don't need to upgrade to take bookings. You'll do this from your profile, so switch to the right one first if you have more than one.
Three pieces work together, and this page covers all three:
- A booking form (the thing visitors fill in).
- At least one booking type (a service and how long it takes, like "30-minute call").
- Your profile's Primary Action button, pointed at that form.
Auto-adding events to Google Calendar or creating Google Meet or Zoom links for each booking are add-on integrations. They need a connected account, and they're still rolling out, so they may not show up on your account yet. Plain booking, where people pick a time and you get the details, needs none of that and works for everyone.
Create a booking form
This is the form people fill in to request a time with you.
- Go to Forms in your navigation.
- Select the Add button at the top. A setup window opens asking "What would you like to create?"
- Choose Schedule appointments. This is the booking option, described as "Let people book time on your calendar with a guided experience."
- On "Pick a starting point," choose a template or Start blank.
- On "Name your form," type a name like "Book a Call," then select Create Form.
You land on the form's edit screen. A booking form has an extra Booking Types tab that other forms don't, which is how you know you picked the right kind.
For more on fields, templates, and the after-submission message, see add a form so visitors can contact you.
Add a booking type so people can pick a time
A booking form can't take bookings on its own. It needs at least one booking type: the service you offer and how long it lasts. Until you add one, the Booking Types tab shows "No booking types yet" with the note "Create a booking type above to start accepting bookings through this form."
- On the form's edit screen, open the Booking Types tab.
- Select the Add button. A "New Booking Type" window opens.
- Give it a Name (like "Intro Call") and a Duration (minutes), then select Create Booking Type. It attaches to your form, and you'll see "Booking type created and attached."
- Open the new booking type, then select Edit to finish it. (Opening it lands on a read-only summary; Edit is where you change things.) Open the Availability section and set your Weekly Schedule, the days and hours people can book. Under Where it happens, pick a Location type to say how you meet (in person, phone, a meeting link, and so on). Save.
You can add more than one booking type to the same form, like a quick intro call and a longer session. Use the up and down arrows next to each one to reorder how they appear, and give each a custom headline or emoji if you like.
Turn the booking form on
A form only takes bookings once it's active.
- On the form's edit screen, open the Basics tab.
- Turn on the Active toggle. When it's on, the note reads "Accepting submissions."
- Select Save at the top.
An Active badge near the form name confirms it. If the toggle is off, visitors who open the booking link see a "not found" page instead, so leave it on once you're ready.
Point your profile's action button at the form
Your profile has one action button at the top. To turn it into a "Book Now" button, set it in your profile Settings.
- Open your profile's settings. You can also reach this from the Designer: select Settings in the Designer toolbar (the gear icon), then select Full settings at the bottom of the Settings panel.
- Find the Primary Action card.
- Open the Action Type menu and choose Booking Form.
- In the Form menu that appears, pick your new booking form.
- In Button Label, type the words for the button, like Book Now.
- Select Save at the top.
The button now opens your booking form. Turn on Show fixed banner in the same card if you want the button to stay pinned as people scroll.
You can do the same thing in the Designer. In the layers list on the left, find the Header row and select its pencil ("Edit Header"). The Header settings open on the side. Scroll to Primary action, set Action type to Booking Form, and pick your Form.
Publish so the button goes live
Your changes stay private until you publish.
- Select Publish profile (or Publish changes) in the Designer toolbar to push the button live.
- Or, on the Settings page, your saved changes apply once the profile is published.
The "Book Now" button won't show to visitors until the profile is published. See publishing and drafts for the full picture.
What a visitor sees when they book
When someone taps your Book Now button, your booking form opens. From there they:
- Pick the booking type they want (if you offer more than one).
- Choose an open time from the days and hours you set in your availability.
- Fill in their name and any other fields on the form.
- Confirm the booking.
After they confirm, they see your success message, and the booking comes straight to you.
Where bookings land
Bookings arrive in your Inbox, alongside your other form responses.
- Open your Inbox from the Forms menu.
- Select the Bookings filter above the list to show only bookings.
- Tap any booking to read it. You'll see who booked, the Date Requested, and the Service Type.
From there you can mark its status, add a private note, or archive it once you've handled it. See read and manage your form responses for the full set of tools.
Get an email for each new booking
Every booking shows up in your Inbox, and you also get a "New booking from" email by default, as long as email notifications are on for your account. So you're already covered.
To send that same email to other people too, like a teammate, add their addresses to the form:
- Open the booking form and go to the More tab.
- In the Notification Emails box, type the address you want to alert. Add more, separated by commas, for several people.
- Select Save.
Each booking email has the subject "New booking from" plus the person's name, and tells you who booked, which form they used, and the date and time they picked. See get notified when someone fills out your form if those emails don't arrive.
There's a Booking button I didn't set up
If your profile already shows a "Booking" button you don't remember adding, it's most likely from an example setup or someone else on your account. It's not a mistake, and you can make it yours or turn it off.
To make it yours, follow the steps above:
- Open the booking form from Forms and add a booking type with your real services and availability.
- Confirm the form's Active toggle is on, on the Basics tab.
- Check your profile Settings under Primary Action to confirm the button points at the form you want and has the label you want.
If you'd rather not take bookings at all, open the Primary Action card and change Action Type to something else, like a Call, Email, or Directions button. To remove the button entirely, clear the Action Type field. With nothing chosen, no button shows on your profile. In the Designer, the same empty choice is named None.
Why does it say "No matching forms"?
You set the Action Type to Booking Form, but there's no booking form to point it at yet. The warning reads "No matching forms," with the note "You don't have a Booking form yet. Create one to use this action."
The fix is to make the form first. Go to Forms, select Add, and choose Schedule appointments (the steps are up top under "Create a booking form"). Come back to the Primary Action card, and your new form shows up in the Form menu, ready to pick.
My booking button doesn't open anything
If tapping the button does nothing, or visitors hit a "not found" page, run through these:
- The form is turned off. Open the form's Basics tab and turn on Active. An inactive form's booking page returns a "not found" page.
- No form is selected. Open your profile Settings, find the Primary Action card, and confirm a form is chosen in the Form menu. A booking button only appears once a form is picked.
- You haven't published. Changes to the button go live only after you publish the profile.
Nobody can pick a time
If visitors reach your booking form but can't find any times to choose, the booking type is missing its availability.
- Open the booking form, go to the Booking Types tab, open the booking type, then select Edit. (The first screen is a read-only summary; Edit is where you change the schedule.)
- Open the Availability section and set your Weekly Schedule, the days and hours you're open. With none set, there are no slots to offer.
- While you're there, double-check the Duration is right, since very long durations can leave few open slots in a day.
Can I add events to my calendar or send a Zoom link?
Yes, where these add-on integrations are available on your account. Booking on its own collects the request and drops it in your Inbox. The two extras live in different spots on the booking type, so set them where they belong:
- A meeting link (Google Meet or Zoom) comes from the Where it happens section. Open the booking type, set the Location type to Google Meet or Zoom, then connect that account. A fresh link is made for each booking.
- A Google Calendar event comes from the separate Calendar section. Pick a connected Google account and calendar there. We then add each booking to that calendar and check it for clashes when we show open times.
Both need a connected Google or Zoom account, and they're still rolling out, so the options may not show on your account yet. To connect Google or Zoom, open your connections. Plain booking works without any of this.
