Show a QR code so people can scan your profile in person

Updated June 9, 2026

A QR code lets someone open your profile by pointing their phone camera at it. No typing, no spelling out your handle. It's the quickest way to share your profile face to face, and it's no trouble.

Before you start

Your QR code lives in the Share panel and is ready the moment you have a profile. You'll show it from your own phone, so the other person can scan it. For their phone to land on your live page, your profile needs to be published. We'll cover what to do if it isn't.

Show my QR code on my phone

The QR code lives in the Share panel, and you open that from your phone.

  1. On your phone, look at the bottom bar and tap the round account button (a person icon in a circle with a small green dot).
  2. The Share panel slides up.
  3. Your QR code sits at the top, inside a rounded card.

Hold your phone up so the other person can see the code. That's all there is to it.

The QR code points to a permanent web address for your profile. Even if you change your handle later, this same code keeps working.

On a computer the profile menu shares your link too, but it doesn't show the QR code. To show a code for someone to scan, use your phone.

Let someone scan my profile

Once your QR code is on screen, the other person scans it with their own phone.

  1. Open the Share panel so your QR code is showing.
  2. Ask the other person to open their phone's camera and point it at the code.
  3. A link pops up on their screen. They tap it, and your profile opens.

Most phones from the last few years read QR codes with the built-in camera. The other person doesn't need a special app.

I need a QR code to print on something

The Share panel code is made for showing on screen. It has no download button, so you can't save it for a flyer, a sign, a business card, or a sticker.

To get a high-quality image you can print, follow printing your profile's QR code. It walks you through making a downloadable code and sizing it so it scans on paper.

My QR code won't scan

A code that won't read is almost always a screen or focus problem, not a broken code. Try these in order:

  • The code is too dim. Turn your screen brightness all the way up before you show the code.
  • The phone is too close or too far. Hold it about a hand's width from the other camera and let it focus for a second.
  • The room is dark. A code in low light takes a beat longer to read. Move toward a window or a lamp.
  • The other camera's lens is dirty. Wipe it with a soft cloth and try again.

If it still won't scan, tap Copy in the Share panel and send your link by text instead. The link gets them to the same place.

The scan opens a "not found" page

This almost always means your profile isn't public yet. A profile has to be published before anyone outside your account can open it. Go to your profile settings, turn on Published, save, and try the scan again.

QR code for the wrong profile

The QR code in the Share panel always matches the profile you have open. If it sends people to a different profile, you were on the wrong one when you opened the panel.

To fix it, tap your profile photo inside the Share panel to switch profiles, choose the profile you mean to share, then show that code. The code updates the moment you switch.

What the scan does for your visitor numbers

When someone reaches your profile through your QR code, we count it as a visit. You'll see it in your Reports. In the source breakdown, those visits land under a row named Qr, so you can see how many people opened your profile by scanning. For more on how visits get grouped by source, see where your visitors come from.
