Use NoTrouble with Claude or ChatGPT

Want to update your profile by asking? You can connect NoTrouble to Claude or ChatGPT, then check your numbers or change your profile in plain words, right from your phone. This guide walks you through the setup for both. It's no trouble.

Before you start

A few things need to be in place first:

You'll need a Pro or Team plan. This connection is a paid feature. If you're on Free, you can upgrade in a minute and come straight back.
You'll need a paid Claude or ChatGPT account that allows custom connectors (more on that below). A free Claude account works for one connector; ChatGPT needs a paid plan with developer mode turned on.

That address is your personal, private link. When Claude or ChatGPT uses it, you sign in and it only ever touches the profiles you own. Nobody else can reach your account through it.

What you can do once it's connected

Once connected, you can talk to your profile like you'd talk to an assistant. For example:

"How many people visited my profile this week?"
"Add a link to my new podcast."
"Change my bio to this…"
"How many form messages came in today?"
"Show me my current plan and next bill."

It can read your profile, insights, form messages, and billing. It can also draft changes: your bio, links, socials, sections, posts, photos, and design.

One thing to know up front, because it's the point of the whole design: the assistant can't publish. Every change it makes lands as a draft for you to review. You open the Designer, look over what it prepared, and approve it (or throw it away). Nothing goes live until you say so, so there's no way for it to change your public page behind your back.

A note for ChatGPT users: reading your profile works on any paid ChatGPT plan, but making changes may need a Business, Enterprise, or Edu workspace. OpenAI is still rolling write actions out, and they're limited on Plus and Pro. Claude can draft changes on any plan.

Connecting NoTrouble to Claude

Claude calls this a custom connector. Here's the setup on the Claude apps or website.

Open Claude, then find Connectors in its settings. Depending on your version, this sits under Customize → Connectors or Settings → Connectors.
Select the + button, then Add custom connector.
In the URL field, paste https://my.notrouble.com/mcp/personal
Select Add.
Claude opens a NoTrouble sign-in page. Sign in with your usual NoTrouble details.
You'll see an Authorization Request screen that lists what the connector can do. Select Authorize.

That's it. Claude sends you back, and you'll see NoTrouble in your list of connectors.

To use it in a chat, select the + button at the bottom of the message box, choose Connectors, and switch NoTrouble on for that conversation. Now try asking, "What's on my NoTrouble profile right now?"

Connecting NoTrouble to ChatGPT

ChatGPT keeps custom connectors behind a setting called developer mode. You turn that on once, then add NoTrouble.

Open ChatGPT on the web, then go to Settings.
Turn on developer mode. OpenAI has moved this around, so if you don't see it under Connectors, look under Apps & Connectors or Security. If the switch is greyed out, your plan or workspace doesn't allow it yet (see below).
Back in Settings, open Connectors (or Apps & Connectors) and choose to add a new connector.
In the MCP server URL field, paste https://my.notrouble.com/mcp/personal
Give it a name like "NoTrouble," then select Create.
ChatGPT opens a NoTrouble sign-in page. Sign in with your usual NoTrouble details.
On the Authorization Request screen, select Authorize.

ChatGPT sends you back and adds NoTrouble to your connectors. Start a new chat and ask, "Read my NoTrouble profile," to check it's working.

Custom connectors in ChatGPT need a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu) with developer mode allowed. On Business, Enterprise, and Edu accounts, a workspace admin may have to turn it on first. Reading your profile works on any of these plans. As covered above, making changes from ChatGPT may need a Business, Enterprise, or Edu workspace for now.

When you connect, Claude or ChatGPT hands you to NoTrouble to sign in. This is normal and it's the safe way to do it. You type your password into NoTrouble, not into the other app, so your password is never shared.

Next you'll see the Authorization Request screen. It names the connector and lists what it can do, with an Authorize button and a Cancel button. Selecting Authorize grants access. Selecting Cancel stops the connection, and nothing changes.

You can take this permission back any time from your AI tool's connector settings, or by removing the connector. Your profile keeps working exactly as before.

Claude or ChatGPT says it can't reach my profile

The most common cause is your plan. This connection needs a Pro or Team plan. On a Free plan, Claude or ChatGPT will report that access needs an upgrade, in a message like "MCP access requires the McpAccess plan feature."

To fix it, move to Pro or Team, then ask your AI tool to try again. You don't need to reconnect.

If your plan is already Pro or Team and you still get blocked, your account may be suspended. Open your account billing page to check its standing, then reconnect.

I don't see a way to add a custom connector

This is almost always a plan or setting on the Claude or ChatGPT side, not on NoTrouble's.

In Claude: custom connectors work on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. A free Claude account is capped at one custom connector, so if you already added one, that's the limit.
In ChatGPT: custom connectors need a paid plan and developer mode switched on. If the developer mode switch is missing or greyed out, your plan doesn't include it, or a workspace admin has to allow it first.

If the option truly isn't there, you're likely on a plan that doesn't offer it yet on that tool.

I asked for a change but my public page looks the same

This is working as designed. The assistant doesn't publish. It saves your change as a draft, and your live page stays the same until you approve it.

To see and apply it:

Open the Designer. The change the assistant made is waiting there as a draft for you to review.
Look it over, then approve it to make it live. A new link or post shows on your public page only once your profile is published.
If you own more than one profile and don't see the draft, check you named the right one to the assistant, like "on my bakery profile," and ask again.

If the assistant said it made a change and there's no draft waiting in the Designer, ask it to confirm what it did, then make the edit by hand.

Now and then, Claude or ChatGPT will ask you to sign in to NoTrouble again. This is normal. Access is granted for a limited time for your safety, so it renews once in a while.

Sign in and select Authorize again. If it won't reconnect at all, remove the NoTrouble connector in your AI tool, then add it back using the steps above.

Is my profile safe to connect?

Yes. A few things keep you in control:

You sign in on NoTrouble's own page, so your password is never shared with Claude or ChatGPT.
The connection only reaches the profiles you own. It can't see or touch anyone else's account.
You can remove the connector any time, which cuts off access at once.
Every change arrives as a draft you approve in the Designer. The assistant can't publish, so nothing goes live on your page without you.

This personal connection is a different thing from the MCP Available toggle in your profile settings. That toggle is about your public profile: it controls whether outside AI agents may read and crawl it, and when it's on, it serves your content in an AI-friendly format so those agents can read your page with less guesswork. This connection is the other way round. It's how you manage your own profile while signed in, and it works whether that toggle is on or off. Turning one on or off doesn't affect the other.

How do I disconnect Claude or ChatGPT?

You remove the connector from the AI tool, not from NoTrouble.

In Claude: open Connectors (under Customize or Settings), find NoTrouble, and remove it.
In ChatGPT: open Settings, then Connectors (or Apps & Connectors), find NoTrouble, and remove it.

Access ends the moment you remove it. Your profile, content, and settings all stay exactly as they are.
